  • What is the space like?

    The outdoor space includes a large grassy area, a gravel path, and a flat gravel area. We encourage you to go check it out in person before you apply to participate!

  • Where are the closests washrooms?

    The nearest public washrooms are located a few steps down the street at Hamilton City Centre, Hamilton Farmer's Market, or Jackson Square. Tivoli in the Square has no indoor facilities.

  • Do vendors need to sign a waiver to host an event?

    Yes. Since you are hosting your own events / pop-up markets you are required to sign a waiver on behalf of your organization. We also encourage groups to have separate liability insurance.

  • Is there hydro?

    Hydro is possible depending on the size of the event and availability of volunteers to help assist with set up. For simplicity, we suggest bringing portable wireless equipment if required. 

  • How much space is available to use?

    On the application form you can indicate if you would like the entire space for your event or if you would like to share with other vendors. 

  • When will the first events be scheduled?

    We will review the first round of applications on April 20th, 2023 and follow up with all applicants with any questions shortly after. After this, we will be accepting new application on an on-going basis. 

  • What is the cost to rent the space?

    We will not be charging individuals or organizations anything to use the space. Our goal is to build community and support local artists, entrepreneurs, and community builders. We can connect you to Laura Toito, the official Tivoli in the Square photographer, if you would like to pay to have professional photos taken.

  • Will there be staff on site during events?

    Tivoli in the Square is volunteer run and does not have the capacity to be on site during all initiatives. We will try our best to pop in where we can! We will be available via phone and email if you have any questions about using the space. Your team will be responsible for setting up and cleaning up after your event. 

  • Can alcohol be served at events?

    At this time, alcohol cannot be served at events. Our team is looking into the requirements to see if this is something we can offer in the future. 

  • Can we hire the official Tivoli in the Square photographer?

    Laura Toito is a local photographer who is offering mini-sessions to groups who would like professional photos of their event at a special rate. Connect with her at laura.toito@gmail.com for more information. You are of course welcome to take photos yourself or use your own photographer! Just remember to get permission from your participants before you take / share their photos.
